Falcons vs. Lynn Vision at BLAST Open Porto 2026:The Team That's Already Beaten Them Once

A Pattern Worth Watching Again

Falcons arrive as reigning IEM Cologne Major 2026 champions, having swept FURIA 3-0 in that final — by most measures the best team in the world right now. But 2026 has also produced two losses to Legacy, at the CS Asia Championships final in May and again in the Esports World Cup 2026 quarterfinal just six days ago, both times as the higher-ranked side. Neither of those results makes Lynn Vision the favorite here, but they do mean Falcons enter Porto having shown, twice, that a lower-ranked opponent with the right game plan can beat them in exactly this format.

The Last Time These Two Met, Lynn Vision Won

Lynn Vision's current five — Westmelon, z4kr, Starry, C4LLM3SU3 and EmiliaQAQ — has been unchanged since February 2025, and it's the exact lineup that beat Falcons 13-9 on Nuke at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Falcons' coach zonic admitted afterward that the team wasn't "feeling like ourselves." Falcons have rebuilt significantly since — only NiKo, m0NESY and TeSeS remain from that roster, with karrigan now calling and 18-year-old kyousuke in for the benched Magisk — but Lynn Vision are fielding the identical group that got the job done once already.

A Form Check for NiKo, a Flag-Bearer Moment for Lynn Vision

NiKo posted an uncharacteristically quiet 0.76 rating in the loss to Legacy at EWC, even as m0NESY rated 1.35 in the same match — worth watching whether that dip carries into Porto. Lynn Vision, meanwhile, are here at all because they beat TYLOO to the region's BLAST Rising qualifier spot, the only team representing Asia in the entire field. A win over the world's top-ranked side would be the biggest result in the org's history; a loss simply confirms Falcons' standing against a team they've already lost to once.
