M4A4 | The Coalition released September 22, 2021 as part of the 2021 Train Collection.

It originally released during the CS:GO era, before Valve's Counter-Strike 2 relaunch in September 2023 — its artwork, wear range, and source carried over unchanged into CS2.

It launched as a Covert-tier finish, with a Souvenir edition but no StatTrak™ version.

As a finish, "The Coalition" is applied to the M4A4 — the Counter-Terrorists' standard assault rifle, with a larger magazine than the M4A1-S — and carries the red rarity color every Covert-tier skin shares on the Steam Market and in-game.

That Covert classification places it among the rarest tier a regular CS2 skin can reach — only Extraordinary knife and glove finishes rank above it.

M4A4 | The Coalition ships in all five wear conditions, from Factory New through Battle-Scarred, across the full 0.00–1.00 float range.

As with every CS2 skin, lower float values look cleaner: Factory New copies (roughly below 0.07 float) show the finish at its sharpest, while Field-Tested and Well-Worn pieces make up the most commonly traded middle ground between mint and heavily worn.
